Zunaira Malik
Zunaira is an environmental educator, facilitator and consultant and graduated with a masters in Land & Ecological Restoration at the Eden Project in 2023. She worked with teenagers to inspire them to become the next generation of environmental leaders through delivering residential nature camps held in UK National Parks, supporting school conservation projects and organising youth-leadership activities. She was one of five judges who curated the BBC Woman’s Hour Power List in 2020, highlighting 30 diverse women in the UK making significant contributions in the environmental sector. She is currently working as a Community Activator with Ocean Generation, a UK Charity on a mission to empower an inclusive global movement to protect the Ocean. Her interests are in working on ecological and climate related projects at the intersection of youth and intergenerational work.
"A wise person once said that the global threat of climate change is a ‘symptom’ of the root problem - the break down of our human systems. This really resonated. There needs to be a value-based shift to do things properly, and an effort to restore the vital ecological systems which are keeping us alive. We need to go back to people and reassess our relationship to the natural world, as that is where we’ll find our answers."
