PHD Researcher at The University of Manchester
Zarina Ahmad is an award-winning PhD researcher at the University of Manchester, freelance community practitioner, activist and member of the ClimateXChange Directorate. She has been in the environmental sector for over ten years working predominantly on climate change and over seven years, focussing on race equality. The aim has been to change the landscape of the environmental sector, ensuring there is more engagement and inclusion of diverse communities and raising voices from the Ethnic Minority sector by creating platforms and providing training.
“In the UK, there is a risk of not recognising that the climate crisis is also a race issue, and climate injustices are being perpetuated. Climate justice has to be a true movement for all of those who are impacted.”
