Zahrah Ali
Zahrah is a climate policy specialist who has experience in climate change mitigation, the energy transition and zero emission transport in a city context. She has predominantly worked in the public sector, including a local authority in London, Transport for London and now for the Mayor of London. In these roles she has led climate action plans and electric vehicle policy planning, as well having worked on other topics including: London’s green recovery post-pandemic, zero emission zones, transport decarbonisation policy, consumption based emissions, embedding climate and equity considerations into organisational decision making, green jobs and skills and community energy and solar. In her current role she's working to deliver the Mayor’s net zero by 2030 ambition by identifying interventions in which the Mayor can unlock finance to enable decarbonisation and resilience for London. She was named edie's 30 Under 30 future sustainability leaders for the year 2024. She holds a a BSc in Environmental Science and an MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy.
