Yasmin Begum is a Welsh-Panjabi writer, community organiser, and award-winning campaigner from Cardiff. Yasmin works in English and Welsh, and has a special interest in Wales' Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic history and heritage. She was the National Infrastructure Commission Wales Artist in Residence in 2023, and her work on the 1919 race riots has been archived as a historically significant living document at the National Library of Wales. Her latest project "Decolonising the Welsh Cake" explores the anthropocene, climate change, and Wales' relationship to the British Empire.
“Our climate emergency needs to be more than words. We need to do better, we need to act, and it starts here with a sharp difference in everything we do.”
