War on Want
Tryone is working on advocating for a Global Green New Deal at War on Want. Prior to this, he was a Green Party member for several years and has been a campaigner for climate justice. He recently stood as a candidate in the 2019 General Election in Hackney South and Shoreditch where he saw the Green Party vote share double. He has contributed to articles about the climate crisis and spent many days and nights demonstrating on the streets. Born in Germany, to a German mother and British-Jamaican father, Tyrone feels these multicultural roots have contributed to his concern for a crisis which is global and affects us all. He also works for a housing charity as a Community Organiser helping lead local campaigns and serves as a Campaigns Officer for the Young Green Party of England and Wales.
“There is still so much more work to do for the climate movement to be more racially diverse and inclusive. From questioning the notion of what it means to be ‘arrestable’ at a protest to ensuring we amplify the voices of ALL of those affected by climate change, there is work for all of us to do. Myself included.”
