Sandra is the founder of Climate Finance Group for Latin America and the Caribbean (GFLAC) which tracks and elaborates national strategies on climate finance flows and needs. She is the author of the Sustainable Finance Index and created other methodologies related to climate finance tracking. She has consulted on Climate Finance at the UNFCCC on the first report on the determination of the needs of developing country Parties related to implementing the Convention and the Paris Agreement. Sandra was also the former General Director of Climate Change Policies at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico. She holds a PhD in Politics from the University of York and an MA in Environment Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was awarded ‘Intellectual of the Year’ in 2018 by Marie Claire Magazine and selected as one of the 34 ‘Global Change-Makers’ by the Chevening Scholarship of the UK Government.
