Kamran is a grassroots community organiser and activist, Kamran works with a number of organisations including Faith for the Climate, Faith for Earth (United Nations Environment Programme), the Bahu Trust and the Islamic Foundation for Ecology & Environmental Sciences. Passionate about working and empowering people to guide behavioural change within their communities and simplifying the language on climate change and climate friendly living. Kamran has developed a number of faith inspired community toolkits, video messaging campaigns and resources to promote sustainability and positive environmental behaviour for faith communities. A ‘chartered environmentalist’ and a full member of the Institute for Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA). Kamran served on the Civil Society & Youth Advisory Council to the Presidency of COP26 and has recently been appointed to the Multi-Faith Advisory Council to the United Nations Interagency Task Force on Religion and Sustainable Development (UN IATF).
“People argue that religion is incompatible with science and that they conflict with each other – I don't buy that argument, many of the greatest scientists of our time have been inspired by their faith and science. I would say that faith teachings are complementary to science, and provide solutions to the climate crisis in order to safeguarding the planet.”
