“I think the environmental movement in the UK is still an uncomfortable place for people of colour and that there need to be more significant efforts to bring these marginalised non-white voices, their perspectives and their priorities to the foreground. The UK environmental movement often talks about climate change as a future problem when we know that it is already making life for many communities of colour difficult right now. It often overlooks the vital work of climate justice activists across the world as well as the inequality which underpins the challenges we face when it comes to climate change.”
